CTS 17015 - Professional Architect (Residential Projects) – Cape Town

Your responsibilities will be the following:

• Meet with clients to discuss their needs, ideas, budget, and project requirements.
• Create initial designs, sketches, and layouts for buildings and sites.
• Prepare detailed blueprints, specifications, and construction documents using hand-drawing and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Ensure designs adhere to building codes, zoning laws, public health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Project Management
• Determine and manage project costs and deadlines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with engineers, construction professionals, and project teams.
• Prepare and submit planning applications and obtain necessary permits from regulatory bodies.
• Visit construction sites to monitor progress, ensure quality, and resolve any design-related issues that arise.
• Coordination and Communication
• Coordinate with engineers to integrate building systems like HVAC, electrical, and plumbing into the design.
• Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and other stakeholders.
• Draft and manage bid documents, contracts, and other agreements with contractors.
