POSITION INFO:

A WELL KNOWN TANKER AND GAS COMPANY IS CURRENTLY SEEKING CONTROLLERS

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling vehicles efficiently, ensuring excellent customer service and driver supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Optimal management of BVOs to ensure successful execution of schedule.
Proactively monitor schedule changes and update records accordingly.
Briefing and debriefing BVOs accurately and completely.
Load reconciliation to verify all loaded quantities delivered.
Control costs relating to BVOs overtime, fuel usage, toll etc.
Ensure compliance to HSSE systems and take disciplinary action for minor deviations.
Maximum utilization of fleet.
Monitor and reduce dead kilometres.
Control vehicle e-tag and toll card issues and returns.
Monitor actual trip times against plan and escalate deviations.
Good people skills and be able to enforce discipline/take action.
Data Capturing.
Ability to apply logical thinking and problem solving techniques to overcome hurdles to deliver service successfully.
Ability to work in a pressurised environment whilst diligently performing tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
Ability to manage and motivate a core of BVOs firmly and fairly.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Grade 12 and studying towards a Logistics and Transportation Diploma or equivalent would be advantageous.
Good working knowledge of vehicle scheduling, supervising drivers, briefing and debriefing, enforcing controls and HSSE.
Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment.
Sound knowledge of tracking systems and Microsoft office.
Able to measure and monitor performance in terms of trips standards and driver performance.
Exceptional communication skills internal and external.
Must be willing and able to work 12 hour shifts, including weekends and public holidays on a roaster system.
