POSITION INFO:
CNC PROGRAMMER
A well known Industrial engineering manufacturer based in Durban specialising in design, tooling and manufacturing for over 3 decades. They are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of CNC Programmer. The purpose of this role is to ensure machines are running at optimum efficiency by ensuring that all programming is carried out efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming
- Generate programs relative to tooling design including jigs and fixtures.
- CNC milling and other machinery programming.
- Implement and maintain 2D and 3D drawing standards.
- 2D and 3D drawing creation and annotation of general assemblies, assemblies and components.
- Assist production with tool repairs, by programming the necessary.
- changes onto the CNC machine.
- Program CNC machines and wire cutters as per design specifications.
Coaching and Mentoring - Mentor tooling trainees.
General
- Responsible for daily maintenance of CNC machines and Wire cutter as per checklist.
- Ensure that the required material is ordered timeously.
- Ensure that the correct cutters are ordered timeously.
- Assist in operating CNC machines and wire cutters in the absence of the CNC Operator.
- Ensure that timing plans are adhered to.
- Assist with modifications to designs.
- Complete job cards after conclusion of all jobs.
Tool repairs - Assist with tool maintenance when required
Minimum Requirements:
- Trade-tested tool, jig and die maker (advantageous).
- Proficient in 2D and 3D parametric CAD software.
- 3D machining software programmer.
- 5 years’ experience in Automotive Metal Stamping environment.
- Catia experience.
