Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Controller / Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines, including turning, slotting, drilling, and boring mill equipment, to produce high-quality precision components.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, program, and operate CNC machines (turning, slotting, drilling, and boring mills)

Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
-
Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor machine adjustments
-
Conduct routine inspections using measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
-
Ensure all components meet required tolerances and quality standards
-
Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
-
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety standards
-
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise processes
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
Trade Test Certificate (Turner Machinist or equivalent) – advantageous
-
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience operating CNC machines

Proven experience in:

CNC Turning

Slotting
-
Drilling
-
Boring Mill operations
-
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances
