Role Overview
We are recruiting a C&I Instrumentation Mechanician to oversee the installation, calibration, repair, and routine maintenance of industrial measuring and control devices at a major plant in Ngodwana.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair sensors, control valves, PLC systems, and field instrumentation.
· Perform routine and preventative maintenance on temperature, level, pressure instruments, and transmitters.
· Monitor plant equipment, computer terminals, switches, gauges, alarms, and meters.
· Troubleshoot system errors using electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic bridges, and loop calibrators).
· Perform simulated system testing to evaluate equipment performance.
· Work shift rotations and handle call-outs/overtime during plant trips or emergency breakdowns.
Requirements & Experience
· Grade 12 with completion of a practical instrumentation course (Red Seal certification from an accredited facility preferred).
· National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Control & Instrumentation.
· 3–5 years post-apprenticeship experience in an industrial C&I environment.
· Strong ability to trace, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control system faults.
· Computer literacy (MS Office) and solid leadership capabilities.
