SUMMARY:
Buyer/ Procurement Officer (Centurion)

POSITION INFO:

Buyer Responsibilities:

vResearch, select and purchase quality products and materials.

vBuild relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.

vProcess requisitions and update management on status of orders.

vUpdate inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.

vArrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.

vAnalyse market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.

vCoordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.

vAssess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.

vAbility to travel.

Buyer Requirements:

vContacts in the industry.

vExperience with either Pastel Evolution or SAP.

vRelevant experience preferred.

vExcellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).

vProficient in appropriate software.

vCritical thinking and negotiation skills.

vStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.

vOccasional domestic and/or international travel.

Minimum Requirements:

v3 years working experience in the procurement field.

vNational Diploma in supply chain management/Similar (Required).

vBuying experience in FMCG and Export market.

vFood industry experience.
