Procurement Clerk Purchasing Buyer - eThekwini, Durban

Salary: R18-20k Per Month

 

Purpose of Position:

 

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Procurement Clerk, Junior Buyer for a permanent position in eThekwini, Durban. This position reports to the Procurement Section in Charge, and carries the primary responsibility of

requesting quotations, entry level negotiations, VCRD creations and purchase order creations. Experience with

Imports & Exports essential, as is working with a large procurement budget (national & international).

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Grade 12, Diploma in Purchasing, Logistics or Supply Chain advantageous
  • 2 years’ experience within a similar role within manufacturing, logistics on an international level
  • Own transport required – residing close to Cato Ridge area (Pinetown, Umlazi, Phoenix, Pietermaritzburg, KwaMashu, Westville, Hillcrest)
  • Experience in Imports & Exports, Creating Purchase Orders & Negotiating Pricing with Vendors
  • Multifunctional person with a “can-do” attitude, excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Imports & Exports essential, as is working with a large procurement budget (national & international).

 

Key Performance Areas:

 

  • Sourcing new suppliers
  • Negotiations
  • VCRD creations
  • Zero penalties or delays in Freight goods (INCO Terms)
  • Updating and reporting on pending indents
  • Updating and reporting on pending purchase orders
  • Monitoring of prices and usage of consumables and advising responsible persons
  • Conducting supplier audits
  • Problem solving and assisting in case of absenteeism
  • Monthly kaizen submissions
  • Invoice check and submission to accounts
  • Freight forwarder documentation (checking, sign-off & submission)

  • Sound negotiation skills and product knowledge
