SUMMARY:
A well-established company in the electrical and industrial sector in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Buyer / Procurement Officer

POSITION INFO:
Minium Requirements

Matric essential
Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or related field advantageous
2+ years' buying/procurement experience
Experience within electrical, industrial, manufacturing or wholesale environments preferred
Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
Good analytical, reporting and cost management ability
Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems

Key Responsibilities

Source and purchase products and materials to meet operational requirements
Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Monitor stock levels and work closely with inventory control to ensure stock availability
Create and process purchase orders and track deliveries
Review and approve packaging artwork and supplier proofs
Conduct market research and identify new products and suppliers
Monitor purchasing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
Analyse purchasing trends and prepare reports for management
Ensure purchased products meet company quality standards
