SUMMARY:

Procurement Buyer – Northern Suburbs, Western Cape

About the Role

This role is responsible for securing competitive pricing, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient procurement processes to support site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Secure the best possible pricing within approved budgets
Create, review, and process purchase orders and RFQs accurately and timeously
Evaluate supplier quotations and select the most suitable vendors
Negotiate improved pricing and terms with suppliers
Maintain and optimise the supplier database
Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of goods/services
Oversee and manage import processes, including cost monitoring and control
Ensure supplier compliance with BEE and SHEQ requirements
Build strong relationships with existing suppliers and source new partnerships
Support site operations by prioritising procurement requirements
Resolve supplier queries efficiently and professionally

Minimum Requirements

Matric with a relevant diploma
2–3 years’ experience in a procurement/buying role
Experience in the construction industry (advantageous)
