Butchery Manager / Receiving Manager

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Butchery Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, control stock, and ensure high standards of meat preparation, quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and leadership skills, with previous experience in butchery or meat processing and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Oversee Daily Butchery operations and incoming orders
Manage staff (training, scheduling, performance)
Control inventory (ordering, stock rotation, waste reduction, prevent shrinkage)
Ensure high standards for meat preparation and display
Maintain strict hygiene and food safety compliance
Drive sales through customer service
Oversee all incoming and outgoing orders and shipments
Conduct quality checks
Maintain safety standards
Ensure goods flow efficiently from delivery to storage and dispatch. Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
Work closely with the retail managers and staff to ensure optimal manufacturing operations in line with overall business objectives

Requirements

Grade 12
Previous Butchery/Meat processing experience. Retail or wholesale experience in addition, an advantage
Knowledge of meat products and cold-chain requirements advantageous
Staff management experience
Strong numerical and administrative skills
Computer literate
Experience with inventory
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
