Business Intelligence Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Location : Menlyn, Gauteng, South Africa

Purpose : To support the analysis, design, implementation and testing of Business Intelligence software, systems and reports. Development of data warehousing components and packages.

Salary : R45 000 PM

Closing Date : 11 Janaury 2022

Duties & Responsiblities

Business Information developer

Ensure sign-off on all documentation which include but is not limited to Technical Specifications, Data flow diagrams, Data structure diagrams which includes ERDs.
Ensure projects/work are completed within scope, time and budget
Apply data and development standards in all areas of the SDLC as well as data governance areas.
Complete tasks in a timely manner
Manage delivery expectations favorably
Communicate and resolve delays and challenges in a timely manner

Data analytics

Apply necessary checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Communicate results and challenges at stakeholder understanding level.
Complete tasks in a timely manner
Manage delivery expectations favorably
Communicate and resolve delays and challenges in a timely manner

Operational Maintenance and Support

Respond to service requests as per agreed SLA.
Actively manage assigned service tickets timeously
Active and timeously communicate progress, status and delivery expectations to all relevant service request ticket stakeholders.

Innovation (Research and Development)

Actively engage in Future State discussions and designs.
Provide accurate and detailed report/presentations for technology and architecture decision making

Coaching, Mentoring, continue development

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

B.Com Informatica/B.COM Business Informatic/BSc. Computer Science or relevant qualitifcation
Microsoft BI certification
AZURE Data Analyst Associate (advantage)
AZURE Data Engineer Associate (advantage)

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in business intelligence:
Relational database design and build (5 years)
Advanced T-SQL and SQL scripting experience (5 years)
Advance data analysis experience (5 years)
Data presentation design and build (reports and dashboard) experience (5 years)
ETL process design, build and troubleshoot experience (5 years)
Data warehouse design, build and maintenance experience (5 years)
Advance Microsoft Excel experience (5 years)
Experience and sufficient knowledge of:
- Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS 2017)
- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS 2017)
- Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS 2017)
- Microsoft Power BI
- DevOps – code repository and version control
- AZURE Cloud data platform and tools
