Business Development Specialist

SUMMARY:
A fast-growing military manufacturer in South Africa is recruiting Business Development Specialists to develop and promote military equipment.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

The main purpose of this position will be to set up the business in full including all legal requirements of setting up a business, finding suitable premises, staff employment etc.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare a business plan to establish and grow the business
• To set up the business i.e., dealing with all legal requirements of setting up a business, finding a suitable site, employing of staff etc.
• To attract new customers and to grow the business to become profitable
• To continuously find new customers and also to ensure that the existing customer requirements are being met
• Identify development markets within the existing market
• Work together with customers and members of staff in promoting Company values and ethics
• Become involved in all projects of the organization for the accomplishment of the company’s strategies and goals
• Ensure prompt reporting to Management regarding customer’s responses to Company’s products
• Attend conferences, trade shows and exhibitions

Educational Requirements:

• A Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) or similar
• MBA advantageous

 Experience and Skills Required:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position / industry
• Proven track record of business development activities
• Ability to demonstrate independence in action and decision making
• Must be focused, determined and well organised
• Possess a “do whatever it takes” commitment to achieve success
• Must be willing to relocate to anywhere in the world
• Must be willing to travel internationally
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work under pressure and challenging situations
• Must be results driven
• Must be of high integrity and trustworthy
