Business Development Executive: Clearing & Forwarding

A leading company in the freight forwarding and logistics sector, is expanding its Johannesburg team and seeking a New Business Sales Executive to drive revenue growth, secure new clients, and strengthen their market footprint in customs clearing and international freight solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building long-term relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored transport and logistics solutions to importers and exporters.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across air, sea, and road freight services
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients through networking, cold calling, and client visits
• Promote and sell end-to-end clearing and forwarding solutions, including customs clearance, warehousing, and transport
• Negotiate rates, prepare proposals, and close deals to meet and exceed sales targets
• Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure a seamless client experience
• Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and global freight developments

• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in new business sales within the Clearing & Forwarding or Freight Forwarding industry
• Strong understanding of import/export processes, customs procedures, and incoterms
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work independently
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
