JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in the Agricultural Sector, based in Kirkwood, is currently looking to employ a Building Maintenance Assistant.

Requirements:

Grade 10/Std.8 with Mathematics and English an advantage.
Minimum ten years' proven experience in the building maintenance/construction environment.
Must be able to read, write and speak English and Afrikaans.
Must demonstrate technical ability and building trade knowledge (must be able to read drawings/blueprints).
Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
Willingness to work overtime at short notice when required.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Contactable references related to relevant previous work experience required.
Must have a high level of reliability and accountability.
Medically fit to work at heights (i.e. scaffolding; roofs & MEWP’s).
Code B (08) driver’s license a Must.

Responsibilities:

Resourceful and self-motivated.
Flexible to handle more than 1 task at a time.
Ability to work well in a team.
Ability to lead/guide team members and colleagues.
Ability to resolve problems and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers.
Ability to operate and use machinery and equipment.
Must have a high level of reliability and accountability.
