Broker - Malpractice and PI

SUMMARY:
This role is ideal for a technically strong insurance broker who understands the medical professional environment and is passionate about delivering compliant, well-structured insurance solutions to healthcare practitioners.

POSITION INFO:
Client Advisory & Risk Management

• Advise medical professionals on:
  
  • Medical Malpractice insurance
  • Professional Indemnity insurance
  • Associated risk covers (where applicable)
• Conduct comprehensive needs analyses and risk assessments for healthcare professionals
• Structure and place cover with appropriate insurers and schemes

• Manage:
  
  • New business
  • Renewals
  • Endorsements
  • Policy amendments
  • Cancellations
• Proactively manage renewals and ongoing client communication

• Ensure all business is:
  
  • FAIS compliant
  • Properly recorded
  • Accurately documented
• Work within the company’s CRM and compliance systems to ensure consistent service delivery

• Assist clients with:
  
  • Claims notifications
  • Claims documentation
  • Claims follow-ups (in collaboration with the claims team)

• Identify appropriate cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the medical professional client base

Minimum Requirements

• FAIS-compliant Representative
• Relevant Regulatory Examination (RE5)
• Class of Business completed for Short-Term Insurance
• Minimum 3+ years proven experience in:
  
  • Medical Malpractice and/or Professional Indemnity insurance
• Strong technical knowledge of:
  
  • Claims-made policies
  • Retroactive dates
  • Run-off cover
  • Policy extensions and exclusions
  • Underwriting structures within MedMal & PI
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Advantageous Experience

• Experience with Medical Aids
• Existing medical professional client base
