Job Position: Bookkeeper

Location: Cape Town (Constantia)
Salary: R20 000 to R25 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification

Qualifications / Requirements:

Ideally suited would be a Graduate with Articles and 1 year post Article experience, in a pressurized and fast paced environment.

Individual needs to be well presented and spoken, with excellent communication skills and good work ethics.

Good time management skills, high sense of confidentiality and deadline orientated.

• Full Bookkeeping up to trial balance – which includes, processing and reconciling of debtors and creditors invoices and credit notes, journal entries, processing of cashbooks and bank reconciliations. updating of all company control spreadsheets and doing income statements for Group of companies as required by the Financial Manager
• Debt collection and management
• Calculate VAT and submit VAT Returns for the companies
• Putting together management accounts monthly for the companies as required by the Financial Manager
• Reconcile medical accounts and banking accounts monthly
• Do salaries and wages - calculating and submitting SDL, Workman’s Compensation, UIF and PAYE Returns to SARS and processing payslips on VIP Payroll.  New VIP Premium System – add and maintain employee information, contracts, leave, payslips, EMP501 Recon, IRP5s, Seta etc and manage and update staff leave on Excel and servers and backups
• Load and process all payments
• Preparation of monthly VAT returns for submission on E-Filing along with supporting reconciliations
• Manage petty cash for the companies
• Document filing and record keeping
• Communicate and correspond with Debtors, Creditors, Tenants, Business Partners, Attorneys, Auditors, Bank Managers and SARS as required
• Accounting system technical issues and software customization as far as knowledge/skill permits
• Manage technical issues on other systems such as Sage Evolution and Payroll etc
• Housekeeping and internal auditing of accounts
• Preparation and assistance with external audits
• Reconciliation of loan accounts monthly
• Cashflow projections
• Ensure regular backups are made of all systems
• Event bookings and reservations
• Travel arrangements, tickets and Itinerary
• Post office – collect and sort through post
• Do all vehicle renewals etc
• Manage company insurance
• Couriering of documents and parcels
