Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Our client in the automotive industry is looking to employ a Bookkeeper on a temporary basis.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

- Process creditors invoices and payment runs on SAP.

- Balance usages and process consignment stock invoice.

- Process all cashbook transactions and reconcile bank account daily.

- Process overseas payments weekly on SAP.

- Maintain fixed asset register and process transactions as required.

- Maintain all customer sales price contract information on SAP quarterly and ad hoc as required.

- Calculate requested transfer prices for intercompany products from overseas.

- Process general ledger journals and intercompany transactions.

- Control & reconcile petty cash.

- Ensure that tax invoices are as per the VAT act and that VAT is correctly allocated, where applicable.

- Reconcile VAT, complete VAT return and ensure payments are made on time to avoid penalties.

- Attend to SARS documentation requests on time to facilitate timely receipt of refunds due to the company.

- Ensure adherence to documented quality management system procedures.

Requirements:

- Minimum: Matric

- Tertiary education in finance area would be an advantage

- Moderate level of computer literacy (Excel & ERP systems; SAP experience an advantage)

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting functional area

- Good understanding of financial accounting principles as relates to the processing of transactions required in this role

- Experience with banking transactions and internet banking an advantage

- Knowledge of VAT requirements and application

- Experience with processing computerized transactions on an ERP system
