Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper (with Payroll)

SUMMARY:
Our client, a mutli-disciplined business group, is seeking to employ an experienced Accountant  /  Senior Bookkeeper (with Payroll) to their Agri (Citrus) business operation. 

This role will be based in Port Elizabeth (Perseverance), with weekly travel to Addo, 3 times a week, with company vehicle.

Essential  :  Payroll experience, financial mindset, excellent analytical skills, identification of risks,  and a logical thinker is required for this role.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• A tertiary qualification isn’t a necessity, but would be advantageous.  
• Pastel and VIP experience a must.
• Payroll experience essential.
• A strong payroll / bookkeeper with extensive experience will suit the role.
• Person will have to have a strong personality to manage staff and ensure everything is in order.
• Good work ethics, ability to cope under pressure and prioritise, good communication skills and go-getter attitude.
• Citrus experience will be advantageous but not a necessity.
• Strong analytical skills and logical mind set.

• Processing of books up to trial balance (Pastel).
• Financial analysing of pack-outs, payments received and packing costs.
• Payroll function (VIP Payroll – 90 employees+).
• Managing of spray records / Phytclean updates.
• Controlling of chemical and diesel stock as well as citrus bins’ movement.
• Preparation for and management of Global GAP, SIZA, DAFF and other audits.
• Monthly Management Accounts.
• VAT recon and submission.
• Overall admin function of the citrus farm.
• Bookkeeping of smaller entities in Group.
• Backup for Group Payroll.
