POSITION INFO:

Our client, a well-established organisation within the industrial engineering sector, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to take responsibility for the full accounting function across two active branch locations.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of the numbers from day-to-day processing through to Trial Balance and financial reporting.

You'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing stock reconciliations, ensuring VAT compliance, and supporting the financial performance of both branches.

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you should have:

5+ years' commercial bookkeeping experience with proven exposure to the full accounting function through to Trial Balance
Practical experience preparing draft financial statements and supporting audit processes
Strong exposure to inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and multi-branch financial administration
Hands-on experience with SAP Business One and/or Sage, together with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
A highly organised and independent approach with strong numerical accuracy, problem-solving ability, and stakeholder communication skills

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full bookkeeping function across two branches, including general ledger processing, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
Prepare Trial Balance information, month-end reports, financial schedules, and draft financial statements
Manage stock and inventory reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain accurate inventory records
Prepare and reconcile VAT returns while ensuring compliance with SARS and internal financial requirements
Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial records while supporting branch management with financial reporting and analysis
