About Us

Stratogo is a professional recruitment and workforce solutions company specializing in sourcing and placing top talent across various industries.
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their Finance Department on a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Manager and will be responsible for preparing reconciliation schedules, supporting monthly management accounts, and assisting with daily cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts through to Balance Sheet level.
Perform monthly General Ledger reconciliations.
Complete daily bank reconciliations.
Maintain inter-company loan accounts.
Manage daily cash flow requirements.
Assist with the compilation of monthly Management Accounts.
Process and make electronic payments for all statutory returns.
Prepare monthly depreciation journals.
Monitor and reconcile creditor accounts.
Identify and correct discrepancies on reconciliations.
Request relevant information from Heads of Departments regarding items impacting cash flow.
Assist with the preparation and provision of information required for the annual audit.
Provide supporting documentation and financial information to auditors when requested.
Ensure financial records and reconciliations are maintained accurately and timeously.
Assist the Financial Manager with general finance and accounting functions as required.
Supervise and provide guidance to the Credit Controller.

Minimum Requirements

B.Comm Accounting degree or equivalent accounting qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience working within a Finance Department.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Bookkeeping role.
Previous experience within the FMCG industry will be advantageous.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
Sound working knowledge of Pastel accounting software.
Strong understanding of reconciliations, general ledger, cash flow, and accounting processes.
Experience working with statutory payments and financial reporting.
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Bookkeeper/Finance professional who is able to work independently and take ownership of key accounting and reconciliation functions.
The successful candidate must have strong practical experience in general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, cash flow management, statutory payments, inter-company accounts, and management account preparation.
Previous FMCG experience will be advantageous, and strong working knowledge of Pastel and Excel is essential.
As this is a 3-month contract position, candidates must be immediately available or able to commence within a short period.
