Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
A well established 4 Star hotel resort is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its finance team.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the financial administration of the resort. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual with a strong accounting background and previous hospitality experience.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENT: 

• RSA ID and legal residence essential
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably within the hospitality industry
• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or lodge environment advantageous
• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification advantageous
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices
• Experience with accounting software (Pastel, Sage, Xero, or similar)
• Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• Professional, reliable, and proactive approach 

• Process daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
• Perform bank, debtor, creditor, and general ledger reconciliations
• Process supplier invoices and payments
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist with payroll preparation and financial reporting
• Maintain cash books, petty cash, and financial documentation
• Assist with month-end procedures and audit preparation
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
• Support the Finance Manager with administrative and accounting duties 

• R15,000 – R20,000 per month (DOE)
• Live-in accommodation available for candidates relocating from outside the area
