Bookkeeper | UK Accounting Firm | Cape Town

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper with UK accounting exposure looking to join a professional and growing accounting advisory firm? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join their Cape Town team and support a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where accuracy, integrity, and continuous learning are highly valued. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with both UK and South African accounting standards.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

Strong bookkeeping experience, including maintaining ledgers, processing transactions, and performing reconciliations
Experience with UK accounting standards and tax requirements (essential)
Knowledge of South African accounting standards and tax requirements (essential)
Experience processing and reviewing journal entries for accuracy
Ability to assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or equivalent practical experience
Strong attention to detail, numeracy skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and internal teams

Key Responsibilities:

Capture and reconcile invoices, payments, and receipts
Maintain accurate financial records and update ledgers
Process journal entries and ensure financial data integrity
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
Prepare basic financial reports for senior accountants
Support the preparation of financial statements
Handle client queries relating to financial records and transactions
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
