SUMMARY:
Bookkeeper

POSITION INFO:

Assist CFO of company based in Sandton

Maintain accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring timely capturing, posting, reconciliations,compliance and reporting. 

Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and postings using Xero, HubDocs , SimplePay etc.
Record and reconcile accounts payable and receivable & associated accruals.
Rolling cashflow management
Process and monitor invoices, payments, and expenses
Perform bank & credit card reconciliations
Assist with month-end, quarterly and year-end close out processes
Statutory returns: PAYE, VAT, Provisional Tax
Support payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of payroll journals and associated reconciliations
Maintain orderly financial filing systems (OneDrive)
Maintain and develop Budget Reports and associated activity based costing reports (across Projects and Divisions)
Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis to management (including Vendor
Reconciliations, Commission Statements)
General business administration and business support.

Essential pre- requisites

Minimum three to five years experience as bookkeeper                                    Accounting or bookkeeping qualification preferred

Working knowledge of Xero (or similar) accounting software
Experience with other cloud-based financial tools is desirable (SimplePay , Zoho)
Understanding of basic / intermediate accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
