POSITION INFO:
A well-established business based in Robertsham is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who can step into a hands-on role and take full ownership of the finance function. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an autonomous environment and prefers execution over supervision - a professional who understands what needs to be done and simply gets it done.
 
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the current bookkeeping duties, allowing senior leadership to refocus on broader business priorities. This role requires a dependable self-starter with strong practical accounting experience, particularly within Xero, and the confidence to operate independently without constant direction.

Duties:
 

• Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing journals and maintaining accurate financial records
• Managing month-end processes and reporting preparation
• Maintaining general ledger integrity
• Assisting with financial administration and operational finance tasks
• Supporting management with financial information and reporting requirements
• Taking over existing bookkeeping, responsibilities currently handled internally

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Diploma or BCom in Accounting or related field advantageous but not essential
• Relevant bookkeeping certifications beneficial

 
Experience:

• 5–10 years’ proven bookkeeping experience
• Experience within manufacturing environments advantageous but not required
• Strong hands-on experience performing full bookkeeping functions independently
• Essential experience working on Xero accounting software

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly organised with good time-management skills
• Practical problem-solving ability
• Reliable and accountable work ethic
• Strong communication skills and ability to integrate into a small team environment
