To construct, repair, refurbish, and install wooden and composite components on marine vessels. The Marine Carpenter works with a variety of materials and tools to ensure that structural and aesthetic elements of boats, ships, or yachts meet safety and design specifications.

Construct, repair, and install marine-grade wooden structures (e.g. decks, hatches, cabinetry, flooring, bulkheads).

Work with fiberglass, teak, laminates, and marine plywood.

Interpret marine drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.

Use hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing wood or composites.

Carry out caulking, sealing, and waterproofing of joints and surfaces.

Collaborate with marine electricians, welders, and painters during refit or new-build projects.

Inspect and maintain vessel interiors and exteriors according to maritime standards.

Follow safety and environmental protocols in accordance with local and international marine regulations.
