A leading player in the mining and quarrying sector is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Blasting Assistant to join their high-performing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across some of Africa''s most dynamic mining operations, supporting cutting-edge blasting techniques and helping ensure smooth, safe, and effective outcomes.
In this position, the successful candidate will assist with the full blasting process – from preparing the site and handling explosives to conducting post-blast checks and clean-up, all in compliance with strict SHERQ standards. This role demands precision, a methodical mindset, and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

- Matric or N3 qualification (Essential)
- Previous experience in explosives handling or blasting assistance (Essential)
- Code 10 or 14 licence with PDP (Advantageous)
- A systematic and safety-first approach
- Confidence in handling numeric data and equipment
- Assertiveness and the ability to take charge in dynamic situations
- Strong planning and procedural skills
- A proven track record of reliability and teamwork in demanding environments
