Bakery Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Our client in George is seeking an experienced and hands-on Bakery Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the bakery. The ideal candidate must have experience at Assistant Bakery Manager level and be confident in supervising staff, managing production, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the smooth running of the bakery.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Bakery Supervisor, Assistant Bakery Manager, or similar senior bakery role is essential.
• Strong knowledge of bakery operations and production processes.
• Experience supervising and managing bakery staff.
• Knowledge of baking, confectionery, bread, pastries, and other bakery products.
• Experience with stock control, ordering, wastage, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
• Ability to manage production schedules and meet daily targets.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Good administrative and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and hands-on approach.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the bakery.
• Manage and allocate duties to bakery staff.
• Oversee production of bread, confectionery, cakes, pastries, and other bakery products.
• Ensure production targets and deadlines are consistently met.
• Monitor product quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Assist with planning daily production requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering of ingredients and supplies.
• Control wastage and ensure effective use of stock.
• Ensure the bakery maintains high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
• Train, guide, and motivate bakery staff.
• Monitor staff performance and address operational issues where required.
• Ensure bakery equipment is used correctly and maintained.
• Assist with administrative duties and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support the Bakery Manager with the overall management of the bakery.
