Job purpose:

A store manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Convening team meetings and communicate/drive company strategy (Monitor work and maintain an efficient rapport between floor employees management and directors.).
  • Manage link between branch staff and head office Human Resource department regarding, leave, absenteeism, staff performance etc.
  • Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Ordering stock (responsible for managing the levels of stock and making important decisions about controlling the stock) with assistance of other staff.
  • Stock take and inventory control, ensuring the correct quantities of the correct stock are always in stock.
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Minimise shrinkage through supply chain responsibilities and procedures.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Ensuring branch admin packs to be sent to head office are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of company vehicle is at all times clean

Requirements:

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a Supervisory/Managerial role.
  • Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
  • Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
