SUMMARY:
Join a well-established engineering consultancy as an Assistant Resident Engineer and play a key role in delivering major national and provincial road projects. Be part of a dynamic team driving high-impact infrastructure developments.
POSITION INFO:
In this role, you will assist the Resident Engineer in managing and supervising large-scale road construction projects on a national and provincial level. You’ll oversee on-site activities, ensuring full compliance with design specifications, SANS standards, and COLTO requirements, while working closely with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges. The position involves conducting site inspections, monitoring progress, preparing reports, and ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within quality standards. This is a 24-month fixed-term contract offering exposure to high-profile roads projects.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience with a strong background in roads project (SANRAL exposure advantageous)
Knowledge of SANS and COLTO specifications and standards
Proven ability to supervise site activities and manage contractor performance
Strong technical reporting, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Qualification:
BTech, BSc or Beng in civil engineering. National Diploma to be considered as well
