Assistant Mechanic (Johannesburg)

POSITION INFO:

A Franchise giant in the Automotive Industry is looking for a professional assistant mechanic to join the team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

vServicing of light motor vehicles, SUV''s and 4x4’s.

vGeneral mechanical repairs.

vInspecting and reporting vehicle faults and defects.

vTest driving vehicles.

vBe responsible for all tools and equipment, both your own toolbox and the workshops tools.

vHang tools up after use.

vJacking up the vehicles with the safety measures in place.

vOperating hoist.

vUsing hydraulic and power tools with care and safety.

vCleaning the workshops before leaving.

vExecuting all work in a safe manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

vMatric Certificate.

vValid SETA papers.

vRelevant qualifications (Red Seal / Trade Certificate / N3) and supporting certificates.

v2-5 years’ experience as a assistant mechanic.

vDriver’s License.

Skills:

vExcellent diagnostic abilities.

vProfound knowledge of systems and tools needed to perform a procedure.

vSound understanding of safety precautions.

vDemonstrated ability to determine causes of errors and good resolution judgment.

vProfound ability to determine what type of tools will be used in which situation.

vProven ability to detect problems and perform troubleshooting procedures.

vAbility to handle precision machines and material handling equipment.

vExcellent ability to perform all the above, keeping in mind company standards and procedures.

vAble to communicate with all levels of the organization.
