SUMMARY:
A luxury 5-star game lodge in the Greater Addo region of the Eastern Cape is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of lodge operations.
This role is suited to a hospitality professional with extensive game lodge experience who is ready to take on a senior leadership position within a high-end safari environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, staff development, and the maintenance of the lodge's luxury standards.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, guest-focused, and capable of leading teams while supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the property.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENT:

- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a senior management role within a luxury game lodge environment
- Extensive experience within the game lodge industry essential
- Strong operational knowledge across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Reservations, Maintenance, and Guest Relations
- Proven leadership and staff management skills
- Excellent guest relations and hosting ability
- Strong financial understanding including budgeting, stock control, and cost management
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple departments
- Professional, hands-on, and service-driven approach
- Own transport essential
- Stable employment history with demonstrated longevity in previous roles preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily lodge operations
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service delivery standards
- Assist in managing all operational departments and departmental managers
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where required
- Assist with budgeting, financial controls, stock management, and reporting
- Lead, mentor, and develop lodge staff and management teams
- Handle guest concerns and ensure prompt resolution of issues
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain lodge standards and presentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and hospitality standards
- Act as relief General Manager when required
- Support the achievement of operational, financial, and guest satisfaction goals
