SUMMARY:
Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed architectural and engineering drawings, plans, and layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
Interpret architects’, engineers’, and clients’ requirements into accurate technical drawings.
Assist engineers in the design process by providing 2D and 3D models, schematics, and working drawings.
Draft building layouts, elevations, sections, and construction details according to specifications.
Ensure all drawings comply with municipal regulations, SANS standards, and building codes.
Maintain revision control and proper documentation of all drawings.
Work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to resolve design-related queries.
Conduct site visits to take measurements, verify dimensions, and support project execution.
Update drawings as per client feedback, project changes, or engineer/architect instructions.
Provide support in compiling design reports, tender documentation, and submission packs.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications & Experience:

National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology / Draughting.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or Civil 3D if engineering-focused).
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and detailing.
Familiarity with SANS building codes, municipal by-laws, and industry standards.
Minimum 2–5 years’ experience as an Architectural Draughtsman, preferably within an engineering or construction company.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
Strong technical accuracy and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills for working with engineers, contractors, and clients.
Advantage: Registration with SACAP (South African Council for the Architectural Profession).
