SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Appliance Repair Technician with experience on a variety of kitchen-based appliances and related equipment. Although the position is based in the Johannesburg West area travelling to customer sites is required. MUST have valid driver’s license

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities

Ability to fault find on a variety of kitchen-based appliances and related equipment
Repair or replace broken/malfunctioning components on a range of equipment
Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and effect repairs
Observe and test the operation of machinery/equipment and diagnose malfunctions, using observation, analysis, voltmeters, mechanical and other testing devices
Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, and repairs
Service and clean, lubricate, or adjust parts of equipment or machinery
Examine relevant parts for defects, such as breakage, abuse or excessive wear
Test newly repaired machinery/equipment to verify the completeness of the repairs
Provide comprehensive and accurate reports on diagnosis, assessment of component/part, failures, observations, actions as well as any relevant recommendations
Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts/materials as needed
Ensure excellence in customer service delivery through meticulously following procedures/processes
Ensure the correct documentation is in place and accurately completed before repairs are done
Work standby and overtime, when required
Ensure that all OHS procedures are followed and that all tools and equipment is handled with proficiency and with the necessary respect
Effectively communicate with clients regarding repairs, service, spares and related queries

Requirements

Grade 12
MUST HAVE valid driver’s license

Minimum of 4 to 6 years relevant kitchen equipment repair experience
Experience must include fault finding, quoting, assembly, dis-assembly, testing, repairs
Workshop and on site/customer repair experience is preferred
Relevant trade test would be beneficial: example electrician, refrigeration
South African citizens only

Computer literate - MS Office, SAP or similar
Able to travel daily and extensively
Able to work overtime and standby when needed
Good effective communication with customers and support staff is essential
