POSITION INFO:
A passionate and experienced Junior School Teacher is required to teach Afrikaans. The role requires a proven track record of teaching excellence, experience with the IEB or CAPS curriculum, and a commitment to creating a supportive yet challenging learning environment for students.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree and PGCE or B.Education (specialised degree if teaching into a specialist subject)
- SACE certification and police clearance
- 2-5 years experience teaching the IEB curriculum at Junior school level
- 2 years specialist subject teaching (Afrikaans)
- Computer literacy and the ability to integrate IT suitably in teaching/learning
Key Performance Areas:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons following IEB curriculum and educational standards
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback and support
- Develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to the IEB guidelines and objectives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians about academic performance and areas for improvement
- Participate in school events, meetings, and committees as required
- Contribute to the school's culture of excellence, respect, and mutual support
