Accounts controller - Goodwood

International Freight Forwarder / Full supply chain company is seeking to employ an Accounts Controller to join their team

Based in Goodwood Area

Efficient and effective control and manage of General Ledger accounts, debtors and creditors accounts, cash book accounts in order to produce timeous and accurate financial information within the policy and structure of the Company.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS:

  -  Assisting in all accounting functions

-    Monthly reports (expense etc)

-    Reconciliation of accounts

-    Follow up on debtors/creditors queries

-     Bank reconciliation and cash book capturing

-     Preparation and loading of payments, printing cheques and requesting bank transfers

-    Petty cash management

-    Preparation and processing some  of the  journals

-    Creditors payments recons and preparations

-    Preparation of supplementary invoices(interest, LPP, etc)

-    Capturing creditors invoices on Pastel and SS and allocations

-    Assistance with disbursement ledger creditors invoices checking

-    Ensure that expense codes are correct

-  Allocate debtors payments / deposit slips

  -   Reconcile debtors accounts

  -   Timeous follow up with debtors for payments

  -   Prepare monthly, weekly, daily debtors statements

  -   Mail invoices and statements

  -   Control of debtors documentation

  -   Ensure credit limits are in place and not exceeded (Refer company’s credit policy)

  -   Produce weekly and monthly debtors reports

  -   Keep management advised on any long overdue or problematic debtors

  -   Compiling reports on trade references

-    Ensure that procedures have been followed

  -  General support and assistance to Financial Director

  -  Other ad-hoc admin duties as required
