Accounts and Systems Coordinator

SUMMARY:
A well-established company based in Germiston is seeking an experienced Accounts and Systems Coordinator to join their finance team.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 7 years' experience in bookkeeping, accounting or a similar finance role.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Comfortable learning new systems and software.
• Basic IT troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using Sage Evolution 200 will be advantageous.
• Experience reviewing the work of others will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

• Process weekly and monthly journal entries.
• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and present recommendations.
• Assist with bookkeeping and general accounting functions.
• Provide support across debtors, creditors, cashbook, inventory and administration.

Accounts & Branch Reviews

• Review accounting entries for accuracy.
• Spot-check customer and supplier reconciliations.
• Review digitised invoices and digital filing.
• Perform detailed petty cash and credit card reviews.
• Review customer credit applications and recommend credit limits.
• Review credit notes and identify potential issues.

Systems & Process Support

• Act as the first point of contact for routine finance, administration and process-related queries.
• Resolve issues where possible or coordinate with the relevant departments to ensure resolution.
• Provide internal support for Sage Evolution 200.
• Log and manage support tickets with software specialists when required.

IT Support

• Provide first-line support for basic IT-related queries.
• Coordinate with external IT providers where necessary.
• Assist with data maintenance and system clean-up.

Continuous Improvement

• Research new AI tools and technologies that could improve business efficiency.
• Assist with implementation and user support where appropriate.
• Document and maintain company policies and procedures.
• Learn the business and proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiencies.

Reporting & General Support

• Prepare weekly summary reports for the Financial Manager, highlighting completed reviews, risks, challenges, recommendations and improvement opportunities.
• Provide ad hoc support to the Financial Manager and Accounts Department, assisting with projects, bottlenecks and operational requirements.
