SUMMARY:
The Accounting and Reporting Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in line with group standards and statutory requirements. The incumbent will provide insights to support strategic decision-making, maintain robust financial controls, and assist with the preparation and analysis of accounting reports. This role requires a Chartered Accountant (CA) with experience in financial reporting, accounting standards, and system-driven process improvements.

POSITION INFO:

Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
Prepare information to include in statutory reports, including VAT, tax, and other regulatory filings.
Develop and maintain financial reporting templates, dashboards, and analytical tools to enhance reporting efficiency and insight.
Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with business units to analyse financial results, trends, and variances, providing actionable recommendations.
Assess risks and provide commentary on financial performance and deviations from budgets or forecasts.
Support audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal and external auditors’ requirements.
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to build reporting capabilities and knowledge of internal processes.
Preparation and analysis of information for BBBEE reporting requirements.

Minimum requirements:
Chartered Accountant (CA), newly qualified.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and statutory reporting requirements.
Experience with Sage X3 advantageous.
High proficiency in Excel.
Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and work independently.
Focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to liaise cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure accurate and integrated
reporting.
