Accounting Lecturer (SAICA Stream)

SUMMARY:
An established higher education institution is seeking a passionate and experienced Accounting Lecturer to join its Faculty of Business and Management Sciences. • Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and academic support sessions.
• Develop and update learning material in line with curriculum requirements.
• Assess, mark, and moderate assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic guidance to students.
• Monitor student performance and implement support interventions where required.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to academic administration and quality assurance processes.
• Engage in research, scholarly activity, and professional development.
• Support student recruitment, retention, and engagement activities.

 
Minimum Requirements

• Honours Degree in Accounting (NQF 8).
• Master’s degree in accounting or related field will be advantageous.
• Previous lecturing, tutoring, or tertiary education teaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in academic administration and assessment processes.

 
Subject Knowledge Required
Candidates should be able to lecture in one or more of the following areas:

• Financial Accounting
• Taxation
• Auditing
• Financial Management
• Business Statistics

 
Preferred Requirements

• CA(SA) designation or progress towards professional registration.
• Research and publication experience.
• Experience within a higher education environment.
• Honours Degree in Accounting
