Accountant Supervisor

SUMMARY:
A well-established organisation in the financial services sector is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant Supervisor to join their finance division.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining financial controls, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes. This opportunity offers exposure to executive reporting and strategic financial initiatives within a dynamic team environment.

Duties:
 

• Process and review monthly trial balances
• Prepare monthly management reports and perform detailed financial analysis
• Prepare daily payments and review supporting documentation
• Load and release payments within the financial system
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Identify financial risks affecting distribution channels and support the implementation of mitigation controls
• Assist with external and internal audit processes
• Prepare and present financial reports to executive stakeholders
• Assist with ad hoc financial reports and projects, including finance transformation initiatives
• Automate and improve financial reports and processes to drive efficiency
• Ensure accurate implementation and understanding of commission agreements and related structures

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification

• Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting environment
• Exposure to financial services or insurance industry will be advantageous
• Experience with management reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking ability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Pastel or Sage will be advantageous
