SUMMARY:
ACCOUNTANT Location: Goodwood, Cape Town Salary: R35,000 per month Employment Type: Permanent

POSITION INFO:

An established and reputable organisation in Goodwood, Cape Town is seeking an experienced and highly organised Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who is confident managing the full bookkeeping and accounting function and has strong experience working on Xero Accounting Software.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Managing the full bookkeeping and accounting function up to Trial Balance.
Processing debtors, creditors, bank transactions and petty cash.
Preparing and processing journals.
Invoicing and general accounting administration.
Processing payroll.
Preparing PAYE, UIF and SDL summaries.
Liaising with suppliers and resolving account-related queries.
Performing various administrative and financial duties.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Ensuring accounting procedures and records comply with relevant accounting standards.
Assisting with general finance and accounting requirements as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Accounting Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
Minimum 3 years'' experience in a similar accounting position.
Strong and proven experience working on Xero Accounting Software is essential.
Good knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
Experience with bookkeeping up to Trial Balance.
Working knowledge of payroll and statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF and SDL.
Valid driver''s licence.
Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Hardworking, motivated and enthusiastic approach.
Strong initiative, drive and willingness to take ownership.
Willingness to work longer hours when required from time to time.
Thorough, organised and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
