POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• Take ownership of the general ledger, month-end close process, and management reporting
• Analyse manufacturing costs and variances, including material usage, labour efficiencies, machine performance, and overhead absorption
• Manage inventory accounting across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
• Drive accurate product costing and maintain standard costing models
• Partner with production, procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to improve operational and financial performance
• Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy
• Monitor gross profit margins and provide insights to improve profitability
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and support effective working capital management
• Deliver meaningful operational KPI reporting and performance analysis to management
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support waste reduction initiatives across the plant
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, VAT submissions, audits, and internal controls
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes across the business

• 5-8 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, and management reporting
• Proven ability to engage with operational teams and influence business decisions
• Solid understanding of manufacturing costing methodologies and operational finance
• Experience analysing production efficiencies, stock variances, and gross profit performance
• Strong ERP systems experience within a manufacturing environment
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• SAIPA or SAICA articles advantageous
• Professional registration such as SAIPA, or similar will be beneficial
