POSITION INFO:

Duties & Key Responsibilities

Process daily transactions and maintain accurate records in Sage Accounting.
Manage accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts and complete month-end and year-end procedures.
Submit VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns.
Support provisional and corporate income tax compliance.
Reconcile balance-sheet accounts and maintain the fixed-asset register.
Liaise with SARS, auditors, banks and external service providers.
Improve accounting processes and support broader finance requirements.

Requirements

Three to five years’ accounting experience in a similar role.
Practical Sage Accounting experience.
Hands-on SARS eFiling and tax-submission experience.
Advanced Excel proficiency.
Strong knowledge of South African accounting principles and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and corporate income tax.

Education

Three-year diploma or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

Soft Skills

Detail-oriented, ethical and dependable, with strong problem-solving and English communication skills. Must work independently, protect confidential information and deliver accurately under pressure and tight deadlines.

Salary

The proposed salary range is R30k - R40k per month. If you can demonstrate exceptional value, an offer of up to R50k per month can be negotiated. Any offer will be based on qualifications, experience and skills.
