POSITION INFO:

Company and Job Description:

A niche accounting firm servicing predominantly Chinese clients is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SAIPA Accountant to join its Johannesburg North office. This role offers hands-on exposure across the full accounting function, client interaction, tax compliance, and team supervision. The successful candidate will thrive in a deadline-driven environment that values accuracy, accountability, and professional integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Management

- Manage full accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and cashbook functions
- Maintain and manage general ledger accounts
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Compile monthly balance sheets and income statements
- Perform bookkeeping to trial balance, including VAT reconciliations and submissions
- Prepare IFRS for SMEs financial statements

Tax, Payroll & Compliance

- Handle Income Tax, VAT, and PAYE calculations, submissions, payments, and SARS queries
- Manage full payroll functions, including PAYE reconciliations and submissions
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

Audits, Team Leadership & Administration

- Manage external audits and address audit-related queries
- Supervise and support junior bookkeeper(s)
- Perform company secretarial duties
- Undertake ad hoc finance-related projects and special assignments

Qualifications & Experience Required:

- BCom Degree with completed articles
- Registered Professional Accountant (SAIPA)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar accounting role
