Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Capture and process financial transactions accurately
• Maintain the general ledger, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with monthly management accounts and variance analysis
• Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with internal controls and audit requirements

Payroll Processing

• Assist with end-to-end payroll processing
• Process salaries, wages, overtime, and statutory deductions
• Maintain employee payroll information and records
• Prepare payroll reconciliations and monthly reports
• Assist with PAYE, UIF, and SDL submissions
• Handle payroll-related queries while maintaining confidentiality

Tax & Compliance

• Assist with VAT calculations and submissions
• Support SARS compliance processes and deadlines
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for statutory submissions
• Assist with SARS audits, verifications, and related queries

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process supplier invoices and reconciliations
• Assist with payment scheduling and expense allocations
• Support debtor reconciliations and customer invoicing
• Follow up on outstanding balances and collections

General Finance Support

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintain organised finance and compliance filing systems
• Provide support to the finance and compliance teams
• Perform ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Experience

• 0–2 years’ accounting experience (internships welcome)
• Exposure to Sage, Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software
• Basic understanding of SARS processes and submissions
• Exposure to a production or manufacturing environment will be advantageous
