SUMMARY:
Company based in Winelands has an vacancy for an Account Manager to join their team

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties & Responsibilities

Client visits with Account executive and/or Commercial team
Responsible for boarding of client in so far as the below is concern but not limited to
Receive forecasts and allocation plan from CD & Account Exec and sit with commercial team to know where to book what and on who’s contract CD/Freight management to hand over allocation plan to KAM (Ops).
This will include any adhoc shipments for all trades which must have sign off by the Commercial team
Ensure that updated monthly quotation are sent to the customer.
Request adhoc rates for clients with commercial team.
Manage account operation and always avoid incurring penalties and additional cost
Attend Client/Operation planning meetings
Provide shipping options/routes/stacks dates/ETD’s/ETA’s to clients
Ensure customer has relevant rates for the above mentioned on quotation
Receive customer booking
Create & send Q67 to: PPECB, Agreed Lines, Customer, Packstore
Verifying information correct as per customer instruction including capturing the correct freight contract in QX
Forwarding correct booking confirmation to customer
Insert operational data e.g., container numbers / product & temp info on files
Update systems with operational info QX
Interacting with intermodal about any changes/amendments/issues with container loads
Communicate with Shipping line and client regarding equipment/depot issues
Liaise with pack stores
Obtain packing lists/addendums/commercial invoices from client print and place in files and handover to the appointed Account Documentation controller
Manage deadlines with shipping lines and other various parties
Arrange Late arrivals etc. (anything additional regarding container bookings)
Advise customer of additional/incidental charges and obtain authorization in writing prior to actioning and noting/commenting on systems and files
Resolve client invoice queries.

Requirements:

Grade 12/Matric Certificate (Essential)
Diploma in Shipping, Clearing and Freight Forwarding, Distribution and Logistics Business Management or related field (Desirable).
Proficient Computer Literacy, high tech environment, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and G-Suite)
A minimum of 5-years’ experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics experience (import and export-related)
Customer Service mindset
Willingness to work additional hours from time to time due to nature of business
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Strong persuasive, communication, and relationship building skills
Knowledge of all road transport modes
