AUTOMOTIVE WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

Preferred Qualification: Degree / BS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration

 

  • Previous Automotive Warehouse Supervisor experiences an essential requirement – other industries will not be considered.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining the smooth operations of a fast-moving environment. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of people within the warehouse function, to ensure that the company’s targets and objectives are met in order to meet the customer requirements and to ensure that the staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the warehouse. 
  • Act independently at the organizational level.  Outcomes reviewed by organizational head.  Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success.

  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Demonstrated experience of managing warehouse staff and operations, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a diver’s team positively.
  • Previous demonstrated management experience with the ability to manage and motivate others
  • Previous demonstrated experience of inventory control
  • A full understanding of the requirements of managing a warehouse, such as health and safety and security requirements
  • A full understanding of ISO standards (Specifically ISO 45001 and ISO 9001)
  • Knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and best practices
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • High level of ethics and trustworthiness.

 

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS INCLUDE:

  1. Provide a safe working environment adhering to Health and Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team.
  2. Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
  3. Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers timescales/ requirements.
  4. Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.
  5. Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals
  6. Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
  7. Responsible for driving Standard Working and ensuring quality processes are implemented to ensure a “Right First Time” product to the customer aligned with their expectation.
  8. Deliver the product to the customer on time, every time using appropriate methods together with the Dispatch Department.
  9. Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to, by supporting dispatch time windows.
  10. Identify errors and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures
  11. Sustain the corrective action to eliminate repeat issues
  12. In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, implement warehouse and management systems and working practices in line with nest practices and continuous improvement
  13. Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operations whilst ensuring continuous customer services
  14. Control of Forklift truck Management to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets
  15. Oversee and inform the Warehouse Manager of any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  16. Ensure security of warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring 5s housekeeping standards are always maintained
  17. Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy
  18. Maintain the management of supplier return packaging.
  19. Record and communicate all shortage issues to the Warehouse Manager.
  20. Monitor stock levels to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages.

 

STAFF MANAGEMENT:

  1. You are responsible to take disciplinary action against the staff reporting to you.
  2. Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity
  3. Provide technical expertise to the team
  4. Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
  5. Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
  6. Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting

 

RELATIONSHIP WITHIN THE LARGE WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained in a positive and collaborative manner.
  2. Work as part of the Supervisory Team within each department to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders/ departments and to ensure optimal performance
  4. Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained
