24 Hour tracking controller

Introduction:
Our Client a well-established Supplier and Transporter of bricks, pavers and cement in Empangeni is seeking a full-time 24 Hour tracking controller to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Real-time Monitoring: Continuously monitor vehicle movements and status using GPS fleet tracking systems and software.
- Incident Management: Handle incidents such as route deviations, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or unsafe driving behaviours.
- Alert Response: Respond immediately to system alerts (e.g., ignition switched on during off-hours, geo-fence breaches, panic buttons, or crash alerts) and initiate the agreed-upon protocols.
- Coordination and Dispatch: Collaborate with dispatchers, maintenance teams.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with drivers, customers, and internal departments, providing real-time updates and addressing concerns.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Resolve tracking discrepancies, generate daily/weekly/monthly reports on fleet performance, driver behaviour, fuel usage, and ensure accurate data capturing.
- Compliance: Ensure driver compliance with safety regulations and company procedures, as well as adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Skills and Competencies
- Technical Acumen: Proficiency in using GPS tracking systems, alarm monitoring software, and related management systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills to efficiently resolve issues and discrepancies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and accurate reporting and coordination.
- Work Under Pressure: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage critical situations calmly and effectively.
- Integrity and Honesty: High level of integrity, honesty, and the ability to handle sensitive information, often with a clear criminal record requirement.
- Availability: Willingness to work 24/7 rotational shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays) as the job requires constant coverage.
