MY CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR A HOME MANAGER

POSITION INFO:

KEY REPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

The Home Manager is responsible and accountable for tasks including, but not limited to:

• Responsible for the overall well being of the residents. This must be seen as a top priority
• The Home Manager must be seen to be following an ‘open door policy’ at all times and address problems which might occur
• Check on all residents daily
• Follow up on any resident who does not come to meals or answer the daily call
• Hold regular Vulnerability meetings with the Social Worker and Care Manager as per the year planner
• Monitor the health of all residents and develop plans for support or transfer as indicated
• Liaise with Care Manager on all matters relating to the health of residents
• Encourage residents to have at least 1 annual medical examination
• Arrange for emergency bells to be answered and an assessment made for the need to call nursing staff to assist
• Managers are to facilitate the Sales Process at their facility, including but not limited to Open Days, administration and admission of new residents
• Arrange functions/outings for resident’s entertainment
• Welcome new residents and introduce them to the residents committee
• Under the direction of Head Office, convene a residents’ annual general meeting for the purpose of electing a residents’ committee
• Attend the residents’ committee meetings on a regular basis and act as liaison between the ResComm and CPOA

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXEPERIENCE 

The following qualifications and experience would be preferred for the position:

• Qualification in business or hospitality management (advantageous)
• Experience managing and preparing annual budgets
• Strong knowledge Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel
• Demonstrated experience in managing a facility that caters to the elderly
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to mobilize resources to achieve deliverables
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
• Tact, diplomacy and objectivity
• Must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task
• Detail orientated
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills
• Organized with time management skills
