EXTERNAL VACANCY – XRAY/CASTING TECHNICIAN
The Company is looking for an energetic analytical individual who can manage the daily output and scrap performance in conjunction with normal Foundry shift requirements.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Ensure that daily production targets with respect to Dimo output, scrap and Foundry related reworks are achieved.
Resources are utilised effectively and efficiently to achieve Company targets.
Analyse daily performance with respect to scrap and reworks, take necessary action and implement or provide suggestion to eliminate or reduce the defect.
Assist with the Sampling of all new dies to Customer specification and ensure 100% compliance to test requirements as indicated by each Customer.
Active involvement in all Foundry related projects, including 5S and/or Kaizen related projects to improve output, reduce scrap or costs within the department and throughout the Company.
Adhere to work instructions and procedures – SOP 1075, SOP 1125, SOP 1055, SOP 1044
Ensure correct filing and use of all documentation.
Control inspection of Foundry castings – to ASTM Standards.
Accurate recording of wheels viewed, good and scrap/scrap reason on touch screen.
Operate machines to check for internal casting defects to ASTM x-ray standards or customer requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Tertiary education in the field of Beng or Btech in Engineering or RT1 is essential
Courses completed in Leadership, TQM, FMEA and Six Sigma will be an advantage.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
At least 3 -5 years experience in a Production / Manufacturing environment.
Experience in Die Casting techniques, X-raying of wheels is advantage
Tool-making exposure, design engineering or 2D/3D drawing will be an advantage.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Excellent attendance record and Impeccable disciplinary record
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong Communication and Leadership skills
Computer literacy essential
Good decision making and problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
