Workshop Supervisor / Coordinator

SUMMARY:
Our client in the automotive/engineering sector seeks to employ a Workshop Supervisor/Coordinator to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Provide safe and effective Manufacturing supervision whilst manufacturing equipment.
• Provide all relevant documentation throughout the manufacturing period and at completion to Company

• Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Assign tasks to personnel or operatives under your direct control, in order to achieve optimum productivity in the workshop.

• Ensure a flexible approach is taken when carrying out effective Workshop Supervision.
• Inspect work of employees for quality, progress and satisfactory completion and check progress at suitable intervals against drawings.
• Undertaking manufacturing and assembly jobs during busy periods.
• General administration for personnel and record keeping.

Requirements:

• Matric and qualified artisan by trade advantageous.
• Able to make critical decisions under pressure, while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the staff responsible for.
• A thorough understanding of and experience with machining and fitting techniques as well as welding, laser cutting and CNC bending & machining.
• Oral Communication – Articulate with the ability to converse at all levels within the organisation as well as suppliers.
• Good problem solving skills. Have the ability to identify the root cause of a problem, apply a solution, and check that the solution has worked effectively.
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills able to motivate people.
